Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to apply?

Families of students entering eligible grades in your school who demostrate financial need should apply.

What if they have had a divorce? Who should complete the PSAS Student Aid Form?

The standard PSAS policy is that the parent responsible for tuition should complete all necessary tuition assistance processes. In the event that both parents are partially responsible for tuition, either or both parents may apply for their portion of tuition.

Who decides the amount of the grant?

PSAS provides need analysis services to assist each Bridgeport School with their grants, but the final decision lies with the Bridgeport Schools Financial Aid Committee. All information is kept confidential throughout the process.

Does the family have to file separate applications for each child that would like to be considered for this financial aid?

Not necessarily. The parent can complete a single application and receive consideration for all children attending a Bridgeport School as long as any deadlines are met. Check with your PSAS Account Representative to be sure.

Do the families need to file every year?

Yes. In order to ensure that each family's most accurate financial data is being considered, families are required to reapply every year before the deadline date.
