PSAS.Org Statement of Privacy

At Private School Aid Service, we are committed to protecting your privacy and to developing technology that gives you the most powerful and secure online experience. You can travel through most of our site without giving us any information about yourself. But sometimes we do need information to provide services that you request, and this statement of privacy explains data collection and use in those situations. Please read the complete psas.org privacy statement.

We use your network IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Web site. We use cookies to collect statistics, deliver content specific to your interests and to save your password so you don't have to re-enter it as you navigate our site All cookies created by our site are removed from your workstation upon successful logout from our system. If a cookie is encountered during the initial logon process, it is removed forcing all users to initially provide the correct login information to access the secure areas of our web site.

Registered users of secure information on this site include the specific organizations that submitted this information for analysis. The process for registering for this service is not done on-line.

Collecting your Personal Information

We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you. Generally this personal information is collected via hard copy documents that you have submitted to your school to request aid. This personal information includes contact information (like your name, address and email address), unique identifiers (like your social security number), financial information (like your salary and home equity amount), and demographic information (like your zip code, age, or income level). The customer's contact information is used to contact the visitor when necessary. Financial information that is collected is used to check the users qualifications for financial aid and for other purposes. Unique identifiers (such as social security numbers) are collected for use as account numbers in our record system. Demographic and profile data is also collected at our site. We use this data to tailor the visitor's experience at our site showing them content that we think they are qualified to view, and displaying the content according to their preferences.

Personal information collected on-line by psas.org often is limited to e-mail address, language, country or location, but may include other information when needed to provide a service you requested.

PSAS will disclose your personal information, without notice only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on PSAS or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of PSAS and its family of Web sites and (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of PSAS, its Web sites, or the public.

Control of your Personal Information

When you register, or otherwise give us personal information psas.org will not share that information with third parties without your permission other than for the limited exceptions already listed. It will only be used for the purposes stated above.

This site gives users the following options for changing and modifying information previously provided.

Security of your Personal Information

PSAS.ORG strictly protects the security of your personal information and honors your choices for its intended use. We carefully protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Your personal information is never shared outside the company without your permission, except under conditions explained above. Inside the company, data is stored in password-controlled servers with limited access. Your information may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country where PSAS, its subsidiaries, affiliates or agents are located.

You also have a significant role in protecting your information. No one can see or edit your personal information without knowing your user id and password so do not share these with others.

Protection of Children's Personal Information

The psas.org site does not publish content that is targeted to children. Minors under the age of 13 are not eligible to use our service, and we ask that minors do not submit any personal information to us. If you are a minor under the age of 13 you must ask your parents to use this service on your behalf.

Use of Cookies

To ensure we are publishing content customers need and want psas.org collects aggregated site-visitation statistics using cookies. We do not track individuals use of the site.

When someone visits the site a cookie is placed on the customer's machine (if the customer accepts cookies) or it is read if the customer has visited the site previously.

Web beacons, also known as clear gif technology, or action tags, assist in delivering the cookie. This technology tells us how many visitors clicked on key elements (such as links or graphics) on a psas.org Web page. We do not use this technology to access your personally identifiable information on psas.org; it is a tool we use to compile aggregated statistics about psas.org Web site usage. We do not share tracking information outside of PSAS, and do not allow other companies to place clear gifs on our sites.

PSAS also uses cookies in connection with the use of your account on the psas.org Web site as explained above.

If you choose to not have your browser accept cookies from the psas.org Web site, you will be able to view the text on the screens however you will not experience a personalized visit nor will you be able to subscribe to the service offerings on the site.
